Get Involved There are many ways to get involved with All-of-us Express Children’s Theatre, from seeing a show to serving on the board. If any of those things sound interesting to you, read on! Come See Us Perform — come see one of our shows! Seeing a show is the best and easiest way to get involved with the theater. We put on four productions in a regular season; one in the fall, one in the winter, one in the spring, and one in the summer. Shows are appropriate and enjoyable for all ages unless otherwise noted (we’ve put on some shows which are more suitable for a slightly older crowd — Macbeth, for example), and tickets can be purchased at the door or reserved ahead of time. Participate — join us for one of our productions! If you want to take it a step further than that and participate in a show, there are many opportunities for that. Auditions are open year-round to all youth between the ages of 9 and 18, and for our summer production, that range is extended to include 6-8 year olds as well. Participate in our Guild Program. For more information see our Guild Program Brochure. We also run Saturday camps throughout the year and drama camps in the summer, and these are open to youth between the ages of 5 and 18 (although some specific classes may be targeted at a particular age range). For the adults who are interested in helping out, there are many volunteer opportunities, which you can read more about below. Donate Funds — help support All-of-us Express! You can donate to us in a number of ways. The easiest is online, via PayPal (see button below). You can also e-mail us a check, drop off a little spare cash in our donations box in person, or donate a useful item or two. All of these things help AECT continue to operate! Join the Board — serve on our Board of Trustees! The Board of Trustees of All-of-us Express Children’s Theatre has as many as 18 members serving at any one time. Members serve up to two consecutive three year terms, and are elected by the membership of All-of-us Express Children’s Theatre. The board meets once a month, on the third Tuesday of every month; board meetings are open to the membership (and board members are required to be members), so if you are a member you are free to sit in on a meeting or two and see if it’s for you. If you’re passionate about theatre or great youth organizations, or particularly both, we’d love to have you — especially if you are also knowledgeable about marketing, fundraising, or outreach! Contact the head of our Nominating Committee if you’re interested in serving on the board. Advertising — take out an ad in a show program! Advertising in our show program is easy, inexpensive and a wonderful way to show your support for Greater Lansing Area youth creating quality theatre — and get your advertisement seen by audiences as well! The show program is prepared by ELPRA staff and printed courtesy of Jackson National Life. Advertising funds are used by the AECT Board of Trustees to support and advise the theatre program of the City of East Lansing’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Arts in the running of All-of-us Express Children’s Theatre.
