These are our Summer 2008 offerings in the Logan Square office and rehearsal space. If you wish to mail in your payment there is a form at the bottom you can print. To enroll more than one person in a class online, simply change the quantity in the PayPal shopping cart, then click the "Update Cart" button.

All sessions take place in our Logan Square space.

Drama Camp

Participants are assigned to age-appropriate groups. These groups focus on various different aspects of drama and theater. Each group puts on a small presentation of what they learn, on the final day of class.

Ages 4-7, voice and body
The two most important and readily available tools that any performer has are their voice and their body. In this group, the participants learn several games and exercises to help improve their understanding of how those tools work and what they can do with those tools within the realm of dramatics.
Ages 8-11, character building and auditioning
This group works on learning the difference between a 'long-build' of and a 'cold-build' of a character. These processes are both very useful but also very different. They also explore the various different techniques of acting, from "organic acting" to "method acting" and points in between.
Ages 12-15, introduction to stage work
This group learns, on a detailed level, about the variety of jobs that go into a large stage production; from the front-stage jobs (directing, acting, producing, et cetera) to the more technical back-stage jobs (sound, lights, makeup, costuming, sets, et cetera). Each participant has the opportunity to experience some portion of each of these areas.
Ages 15-18, production series
This group actually stages a small-scall production. They read and review several scripts before choosing one to work with (based on their own previously set criteria). They then plan all aspects of the show (costumes, sets, props, makeup, et cetera) as well as assign roles for their show. Rehearsal time is incorporated into the class. (15 year old participants must have previous stage experience for this class.)

Ages: 4-18. Meets 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.
